Uninvited Premiere and DC!

Hey there from Aspen, amazing friends and family!

I've had a wonderful three days here as part of a TheatreMasters talk called Theatre and War, given by Richard Digby Day, and organized by the incomparable Julia Hansen. I've made some new friends, seen contemporary ballet set to live music, been to some outstanding parties, and heard Al Gore speak! What could be better?

Tomorrow (Thursday 7/19) I head back to NYC, just in time for the premiere tomorrow night of Uninvited, a short film I'm starring in, by Jonathan Betzler of Myriad Arts fame! Also starring Andrea Grano, Brendan O'Malley, David Lamb, and Jeff Puccillo. Here's the YouTube link for the Uninvited trailer (also available on my website):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0B1e1N88EtU

In case you want to come, the screening is free, only lasts one hour, includes four short films (listed below), and will be at 7:30pm at the Tribeca Screening Room located at 375 Greenwich Street, 2nd Floor. Send an email to info@myriadarts.net to reserve seats.

The program is as follows:

HOTBOX
Directed by Paul Wrider
Written by Jefferson Arca
Starring Gabe Silva and Jo Benincasa

THE COBBLER
Directed by Minnie Tran
Written by Bernie Schallehn
Starring Randall Duk Kim and Marcus Powell

STAND UP
Written and Directed by Gary Giudice
Starring Robin Goldsmith and Aimee Erika Mehiel

UNINVITED
Directed by Jonathan Betzler
Written by Matthew Aarontoe
Starring Andrea Grano and Marni Penning

Other cool things: my mom was selected for the Teacher at Sea program, and she's in the middle of the Atlantic right now, studying scallops! Check her out at http://teacheratsea.noaa.gov/2007/penning/index.html. You can also go to her ship's (the Albatross IV) home page: http://www.nefsc.noaa.gov/albatross4/ and click on 'cruise notes' to get those.

Then, I'm on the move again on July 31... I go to DC to start rehearsals for The Unmentionables at Woolly Mammoth, which will run August 27-September 23.
If you're in DC, come check it out!

I miss you all and hope your summers are going very well!!!!
Please email me your big news; I'd love to hear it!
XOXO,
Marni
